Cherry Pie with Fresh Cherries

Ingredients

  • FOR CHERRY FILLING
  • 8 cups of fresh Cherries
  • 4 cups of Sugar
  • 8 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 PIE CRUST ready to use
  • FOR TOP CRUST
  • 4 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Salt
  • Egg

Instructions

  1. Wash and remove the seeds.
  2. In the large bowl combine the Fresh Cherries, Sugar, Cornstarch, Lemon and mix set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven 400 degrees F or 204 C
  4. Now, let's prepare the top crust. Combine the Butter, Flour, and Salt with a pastry cutter and make sure it all distribute then add the water slowly until you can touch the dough and roll it make the right size for your top crust
  5. Divide the filling to two and arrange your cherry filling. Add the top Crust
  6. In the small bowl mix, the egg and coat in the top of your crust using the pastry brush
  7. Bake for 50 mins. Remove and Let it cool
  8. Decorate your pie with whip cream and cherry on top and Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!  It’s almost 4th of July! How exciting. Before I start, I want to share short stories during our cherry picking.  A couple of days ago, I took my kids to cherry picking in one of the farms here in Northen, California, and we are lucky enough to catch the last week of the season. Those cherries are super ripe and sweet. So, I figured out its time to make the most famous cherry pie! And cherry pie is such a great idea to serve in this celebration on the fourth of July. The colors are so appealing that you can’t resist having some piece of slice.

But first, Since we are using fresh cherries we have to wash and remove all the seeds and starts how you like the taste of your  filling if you wanted to be sweeter, add more sugar if you desired. If you wanted to more sour, add a little squeeze of lemon. Just make sure you balance the flavors.

And for the crust, it is  very straightforward you only need four ingredients. I added a ingredients list and method how to do steps by steps.
