Hi Everyone!
How’s your Weekend? — Hope you have a fabulous one.
This time I wanna share with you another simple quick and easy recipe. Since tomatoes are inexpensive over here, I made a salsa. A Mexican cuisine that is used as a condiment or as a Dip for chips. This is also known as “Red Sauce”! And I really love this sauce with any chips and I remember eating this alone with rice, That was my last stage of pregnancy. I know it sounds weird.
Anyways hope you like this and if you do please let me know.
I went to the market this morning and bought fresh tomatoes cause I believe the type of tomatoes you use matter.
This salsa is made with a fresh tomato base. I do recommend to use fresh to achieve the grilled aroma when roasting it . But you can also use canned tomatoes if you want to.
I have an available cake stand in my house and I came up with the idea of flipping it downward so I can use it for my salsa and chips. — it so resourceful right?
INGREDIENTS:
10 Tomatoes
1 Large Onion, trimmed and quartered
3 cloves Garlic, divided
1 Jalapeno
Olive Oil
Fresh Cilantro, more or less to taste
1/2 lime to taste (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
METHODS:
1: Preheat your Gas Stove Oven to high.
2: Lay the tomatoes skin-side-up onto an aluminum sheet pan along with the quartered onion, garlic and jalapeno.
3: Drizzle with the olive oil bake or until the vegetables blister, and get a dark. Keep a good eye on them. You don’t want them to over cook.
4: Remove and let cool until safe to handle. And add them to the food processor or you could use smasher but you need to chop the onion and garlic really fine.
5: Add in the chop cilantro until they are throughout the salsa. Add the salt and little lime. Taste it…. in your own desire. And enjoy! this addictive taste.
