Cheers for 50 years. Such a special milestone to Celebrate.
Hi Everyone! A few days before Thanksgiving, I hosted an event for Billy’s 50th Birthday. As some of you may know, I love any excuse to celebrate my family’s milestones, and this was an especially big one.
I decided to go with a Great Gatsby inspired theme because I’ve always found it so glamorous, especially since it includes some of my favorite things- gold, feathers, and pearls. And of course, because Billy happens to love black as well.
Somehow, amidst all the excitement I was feeling at the opportunity to celebrate Billy’s life, I surprisingly managed to pull off all the planning, decorating, cooking, and time to put on make-up minutes before our beloved family and friends arrived at 4pm! Of course, we had to have it start early to accommodate the kids. I have to add though, that I would not have been able to do it if Zega and Alisz weren’t so cooperative day and night.
Overall, it was a pretty successful event. We ate, drank, talked, and danced. Okay, actually the kids did most of the dancing. I also made Billy sit through a short video that included some short and sweet messages from his family and some rather embarrassing photos throughout his childhood and life.
Of course, my favorite part of the evening was Alisz’s solo unrehearsed dance performance. She was so brave to come up on stage and dance for her father. Afterwards, the other kids went up on stage and danced the night away. We truly celebrated our happy life and we are so grateful to our family, friends and the people in our lives.
